Tracker

The Tracker nameplate first appeared on Chevrolet-badged vehicles in 1998, when the small SUV transitioned from its earlier identity into the Chevrolet family. In North America, it was positioned as an affordable, compact utility vehicle with simple, rugged appeal and remained on sale through the 2004 model year before disappearing from the U.S. market. Chevrolet later revived the Tracker nameplate for newer small SUVs in other markets, including China and several Latin American countries, beginning in the late 2010s. These later Trackers are separate from the original body-on-frame compact SUV and reflect Chevrolet’s shift toward modern crossover packaging, contemporary safety and connectivity, and broader global market positioning. Because the nameplate has been reused after a production gap, its history spans multiple distinct production periods rather than one continuous run.
