Avalanche

Introduced for the 2002 model year, this Chevrolet pickup blended full-size truck utility with SUV-style enclosed cargo versatility and the brand’s signature midgate design. It was launched as a distinctive alternative to conventional pickups, sharing its underlying architecture with other full-size GM trucks while adding a more lifestyle-oriented body style. Early production included 1500 and 2500 versions, and the nameplate continued into a redesigned second generation for the 2007 model year. That later version kept the same basic concept but adopted updated styling and hardware, and it remained on sale through the 2013 model year. The nameplate was then discontinued, leaving it as one of Chevrolet’s more memorable truck-based utility vehicles from the 2000s and early 2010s.
