MODEL HISTORY

The Story of the CT4

The CT4 arrived for the 2020 model year as Cadillac’s compact rear-wheel-drive luxury sedan, replacing the ATS in the brand’s modern sedan lineup. It was part of Cadillac’s move to a new naming structure and a broader realignment of its cars around the CT series. Built on Cadillac’s Alpha architecture, the CT4 was positioned as the smaller, more athletic sedan in the range, aimed at buyers who wanted a traditional luxury car with a sharper driving character and available all-wheel drive. Cadillac launched the model alongside CT4-V performance variants, extending its V-Series identity into the compact-sedan class. The line later gained the more extreme CT4-V Blackwing, which became the enthusiast halo version and helped define the car’s reputation among performance-sedan fans. The CT4 has remained in production since its debut, with Cadillac continuing to market it as part of the brand’s sedan lineup rather than replacing it with a direct successor.
