MODEL HISTORY

The Story of the Tuono 660

Aprilia introduced the Tuono 660 in the 2021 model year as the middleweight naked sibling to the RS 660, extending the long-running Tuono name into a lighter, more accessible platform. It was designed to bring Aprilia’s sportbike character into a street-focused package with upright ergonomics, compact proportions and a strong emphasis on chassis balance and electronic rider aids. The model arrived as part of Aprilia’s broader 660 family, which marked a new chapter for the brand beyond its larger V4-based performance bikes.

The Tuono name itself has deep roots at Aprilia, but the Tuono 660 is a distinct modern nameplate rather than a simple trim of an older motorcycle. Its launch reflected Aprilia’s strategy of offering a more versatile naked bike that still carried the company’s racing-inspired identity and Italian styling. The bike quickly became the basis for a Factory version as well, reinforcing its role as a serious roadster with a performance-first personality.

As of now, the Tuono 660 remains in production. There is no verified discontinuation or revival period for this exact nameplate, so it should be treated as a single continuous production run beginning in 2021.
