Yamaha introduced this snowmobile nameplate for the 2005 model year as the RSVector ER, positioning it as the company’s second-generation four-stroke performance sled and a more comfortable, trail-focused alternative to the earlier RX-1. The line was built around Yamaha’s move into four-stroke snowmobiles and became part of the company’s effort to establish a strong foothold in the mid-class performance segment. Over time, the nameplate evolved into the RSVector family and was offered in different trims and tuning levels, including sport and touring-oriented versions. A 2012 model year RSVector article shows the nameplate still in use at that point, but it does not appear in Yamaha’s 2013 snowmobile model lineup, indicating the run ended after the 2012 model year. The model is remembered as one of Yamaha’s key four-stroke snowmobiles, bridging performance and long-distance comfort rather than chasing outright race-bred aggression.
