LS2

The LS2 was Saturn’s top L-Series sedan for the 2000 model year, part of Saturn’s first midsize car lineup and positioned above the four-cylinder LS and LS1. It introduced the larger V6-powered version of the new L-car family, which was Saturn’s move beyond its small-car roots and into the mainstream midsize market. For 2001, Saturn revised the naming scheme across the L-Series, and the LS2 nameplate was replaced by the L300 designation rather than continuing unchanged. That makes the LS2 a one-year nameplate in Saturn history, tied specifically to the earliest phase of the L-Series before the lineup’s 2001 renaming and later mid-cycle updates.
