This special-edition touring variant was introduced for the 2015 model year as part of Moto Guzzi’s refreshed California 1400 range, adding a more luxurious presentation to the established long-distance cruiser. It built on the modern California 1400 platform that had debuted at the end of 2012, but distinguished itself with a two-tone finish, integrated passenger backrest and grab handle, and additional comfort-and-carrying-oriented touches that reinforced its role as the plushest expression of the lineup. Moto Guzzi positioned it as a premium, road-focused machine that blended the brand’s traditional transverse V-twin character with contemporary touring equipment and an unmistakably classic American-style silhouette. The model remained in the range through the 2016 model year before being phased out, with later California 1400 Touring models continuing without the Special Edition designation.
