This nameplate was used for Mitsubishi’s late-1980s imported people-mover in North America and Puerto Rico, a boxy passenger van positioned as the family-friendly counterpart to the cargo-focused van. It was sold as a three-row vehicle with seating for seven or eight occupants, emphasizing practical interior space over car-like styling. Government records identify the model as “Mitsubishi wagon/van” for the 1987 through 1990 model years, and Mitsubishi’s Puerto Rico heritage material describes a 1989 example in the same family-oriented role. The result was a short-lived but memorable Mitsubishi wagon-style van from the brand’s pre-minivan era.
