This midsize pickup was introduced for the 2006 model year as a U.S.-market return to the truck segment after a long gap. It was closely tied to Chrysler’s Dakota, sharing its basic hardware and assembly in Warren, Michigan, while wearing distinct styling and trim intended to give it a more squared-off, import-brand identity. The line launched with extended-cab and double-cab body styles and was pitched as a practical alternative to larger full-size pickups, with a focus on everyday utility rather than heavy-duty work-truck credentials. Early versions also stood out for offering a V8 in a segment where that was uncommon for an import-badged truck. Over its short life, the truck changed only modestly, with the final 2009 model year concentrating the lineup into simpler LS-based variants. It did not continue beyond 2009, and there was no separate revival under this nameplate.
