This nameplate was introduced in the U.S. as Kia’s flagship rear-wheel-drive luxury sedan for the 2015 model year. It was positioned above the brand’s mainstream passenger cars to give Kia a true large premium sedan in markets where the company was still building its upscale identity. The model wore the K900 badge in North America even though Kia used other market-specific naming in some regions, and it carried that U.S. nameplate through its life cycle.
