Jaguar’s modern two-seat sports car nameplate was introduced for the 2014 model year, bringing the brand back into the compact front-engine roadster/coupé segment after a long absence. First shown as a convertible, it was conceived as a direct descendant of Jaguar’s classic sports-car tradition, with an emphasis on aluminium construction, rear-wheel-drive dynamics, and distinctive styling rather than grand-touring comfort. A coupé joined the range soon after the launch, expanding the line from open-top roadster to a full sports-car family. Over its life, the model evolved through several updates, including new body styles, powertrain changes, and performance-focused derivatives such as the high-output R variants and special editions. The early cars were notable for their V6 and V8 supercharged engines, while later updates streamlined the range and kept the car aligned with Jaguar’s performance image. In 2023 Jaguar confirmed the final model year, marking the end of the line as the company shifted toward an all-electric future. Production concluded in 2024, making this the last internal-combustion Jaguar sports car of its era.
