This was Isuzu’s first and only conventional-cab medium-duty truck for the U.S. market, created through the GM commercial-vehicle partnership and sold alongside the company’s cab-over commercial lineup. It appeared as a rebadged sibling to the Chevrolet Kodiak and GMC TopKick, giving Isuzu a hooded truck for customers who wanted a conventional layout instead of a low-cab-forward design. The nameplate was offered in several heavy-duty configurations and was aimed at vocational buyers needing a durable chassis for work bodies, towing, and other specialized commercial uses.
The truck is generally associated with the 2005 through 2007 model years. It arrived after Isuzu and GM developed the GMT560 medium-duty platform for North America, and it represented an unusual chapter in Isuzu history because the brand was better known in the U.S. for cab-over N-Series and F-Series trucks. When GM ended its North American medium-duty truck program, the model disappeared along with its Chevrolet and GMC corporate twins, leaving no direct successor under the Isuzu badge. As a result, it is remembered as a short-lived but distinctive chapter in Isuzu’s commercial-truck story.
