This nameplate was introduced for the 2022 model year as Indian Motorcycle’s modern premium touring entry on the liquid-cooled PowerPlus platform. It arrived as part of the brand’s next-generation big-bore touring family, alongside the Challenger, and was positioned as a long-distance bagger/tourer with a larger fairing, integrated luggage, and a stronger emphasis on wind protection, passenger comfort, and rider technology than the company’s more traditional cruiser range. Indian’s official 2022 lineup shows the model from the start of that model year, and the current factory lineup continues to list it, so this is a single continuous production run with no known break. The name fits the brand’s long tradition of using forward-looking, action-oriented model names, but the machine itself is a distinctly contemporary design rather than a revival of an earlier historical touring badge. In the marketplace, it quickly became the touring counterpart to the Challenger, giving Indian a modern American alternative in the full-size performance-touring segment while still keeping the classic Indian styling cues that define the brand’s bagger and touring motorcycles.
