The Story of the Venue

Hyundai’s Venue is the brand’s entry-level SUV nameplate, introduced for the 2019 model year as a compact, urban-focused utility vehicle. Hyundai marked its world debut at the 2019 New York International Auto Show, positioning the Venue as a small, practical crossover with a youthful character and a strong emphasis on city use. The nameplate quickly became associated with accessible SUV styling in a footprint smaller than Hyundai’s larger global crossovers, helping the brand broaden its reach among first-time SUV buyers and urban commuters. Over time, the Venue has remained a global Hyundai offering, with Hyundai continuing to describe it as its all-new entry SUV on worldwide product pages. In 2025, Hyundai Motor India announced an all-new Venue and Venue N Line for global markets, showing that the nameplate continues forward as a current product line rather than a discontinued model. The Venue’s history is therefore a single continuous production period that began in 2019 and is still ongoing. Its significance lies less in high-performance credentials than in its role as a compact, style-forward crossover that helped Hyundai compete in one of the most crowded and fastest-growing SUV segments.
